A GROUP of Redditch residents have become record breakers while improving their fitness at the same time.

More than 60 people took part in the record bid run by the Glow class in Redditch at Trinity High School earlier this month.

Along with 35 other fitness classes across the country the aim was to perform a specially choreographed routine and set a new Guinness World Record for The Largest High Intensity Interval Training Workout in the World.

The old record was about 250 and although the final number of people who took part in the latest bid is still being finalised, it has been confirmed the record has been smashed.

Glow coach Karen Baxter said: “It was so exciting to be a part of this, and to know we all broke a World Record is a fantastic achievement. I’m so proud of all my members who took part and had so much fun at the same time. It was a great way to launch our new brand and show the people of Redditch how we can Glow.”

The Redditch event also raised more than £250 for Redditch Nightstop, which works to prevent youth homelessness.

Glow combines a range of different workouts with personalised nutrition planning.
