A TEENAGER has denied killing a Redditch biker.

Davey James appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Tuesday (December 16) where he pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter of Nigel Shakespeare.

The 18-year-old is alleged to have caused the death of the 50-year-old as he walked home from the Kings Arms pub on February 24 last year.

Mr Shakespeare had to be taken to the Alexandra Hospital and was later transfered to University Hospital Coventry where he passed away.

An original conviction against James in February this year was quashed by the Court of Appeal on November 27.

The press were previously banned from revealing James’ identity due to his age at the time of the previous court case.

He has been bailed to an address in the county with a curfew between 10pm and 8am, and he must not enter Redditch or contact any prosecution witnesses.

He will appear at Worcester Crown Court for his trial on August 10, next year.
