SHAVING her head has netted a Church Hill hairdresser nearly £3,000 for a chemotherapy suite.
Laura Maries from Cutting Edge in the district centre was watched by crowds of supporters as her hair was cut off in aid of the Garden Suite at the Alexandra Hospital, where her client Fiona Davidson has been treated for the last seven years.
Laura said the experience was ‘absolutely fantastic’ and upwards of £2,800 had already been collected, with more money still coming in.
“I am absolutely chuffed to bits and can’t believe how much we have raised for such a good cause.” she added.
“I am so glad I had it done, it’s funny I am doing everyone else’s hair and I haven’t got any myself.”
