A PETITION from residents has led to the introduction of a lollipop person in Studley High Street.
Robert Preston has been appointed in the village after a petition was started by Mick Steward who noticed the dangers of crossing the road when taking his grandchildren to school.
Mick, working alongside Julie Parry and Liberal Democrats councillor Hazel Wright, collected signatures from the village’s shops and schools.
Coun Wright then took the petition to a meeting with the district council and members agreed the village did in fact require a lollipop person.
Robert, an ex-policeman who served for 20 years, says he is thoroughly enjoying his new role.
