NEARLY £2,000 was raised at a fun day in honour of a brother and sister who lost their lives to heart conditions.
The event at the HDA club in Batchley on Saturday saw hundreds of residents empty their pockets in return for barbecued food, raffle tickets and a ride on a mechanical bull and more.
A pair of doves were also released by organisers Robert and Maggie Underwood in memory of their children Charlotte and Craig who passed away in their teens.
All the money raised from the day will go towards funding defibrillators in the town as part of Redditch Heart Safe.
Mr Underwood said: “Considering the bad weather the day was fantastic.
“When we were counting the money we couldn’t believe it.
“From the bottom of our hearts we are so thankful to everyone who turned up, the room was packed.”
He added he wanted to thank all the businesses for donating raffle prizes as well as Hannah from Doves of Love Release, Phil Dent for the music and entertainment, singer Otis Irae and all the staff at the HDA club.
