A CYCLING fanatic will get to meet some of the biggest names in the sport at the town’s tour series event.

Eight-year-old Joseph Turnbull will be a team mascot in the upcoming Pearl Izumi Tour Series on May 19.

The Beoley First School pupil, who is a member of Redditch Road and Path Cycling Club, was picked by the club to help boost the morale of competitors before they take to the track.

He will be assigned a particular team on the night of the event and will research all the riders before asking them questions.

RRPCC will also be organising other races that day with schools set to go head to head against each other in the early afternoon, as well as a business race.
