A TRIO of borough workers are rising to the challenge by attempting to climb three mountains in 24 hours.

Rob Oliver, Matt Humphries and Matt Wheeler, who work in the IT department at AGGORA, are taking on the Three Peaks Challenge where they will scale Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon on July 4.

They will be hiking almost 10,000ft and walking about 26 miles in a bid to raise funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the Foort Foundation which aims to raise money for pioneering cancer treatment.

Enterprise rent a car will be supplying the trio with a seven seater car as well a making a donation, but the team is also offering seven businesses in Redditch the chance to advertise on their vehicle in return for a donation.

Mr Oliver said it will be the hardest challenge any of the team had ever undertaken, especially because of two of them classed themselves as overweight, while one had arthritis in his knees.

All three will also be blogging their progress before the challenge.

Visit www.justgiving.com/Deadlegz/ for more information and to donate, or e-mail [email protected] to advertise on the team’s van.
