A FECKENHAM musician has struck a chord with examiners after becoming one of the youngest in the country to pass his grade 6 guitar exam.
Eleven-year-old William Lane received the ranking – which is equivalent to him passing an A Level exam – from the Rock School Exam Board.
The talented youngster has been practising five days a week since he was just seven when his dad Peter bought him his first guitar.
Mr Lane said: “William took to the guitar naturally, but it is his hard work and determination that has got him to this level. We are really proud of him and all that he has achieved in such a short space of time.”
His tutor Victor Nicholson said in 13 years of teaching he had never met another child with such a talent.
“If he continues in this way, he’ll become a force to be reckoned with – a future star”
William will now be starting out on his grade 7.
