Supermarket brews up support for carers

STAFF from a town supermarket brewed up support for Worcestershire’s carers.

The team at Sainsbury’s on the Abbey Retail Park held a coffee morning along with members of the Worcestershire Association of Carers which supports people who look after ill, frail and disabled family members and friends.

Colleagues and customers enjoyed a hot drink and a slice of cake while finding out more information about the association as part of Carers Week (June 9 to June 15).

Staff and residents from Bowood Mews also joined in to celebrate the awareness session.

Store manager Tim Smedley said: “It was great finding out Sainsbury’s would be supporting carers week for the 15th year running, it’s a subject close to many peoples hearts and we thought holding a coffee morning would be a nice way to bring carers together and find out what’s available to them.”
