THE MAYOR’S civic service saw music and community celebrated in a town centre church.
Dignitaries and residents gathered at St Stephen’s on Sunday (September 7) for a special service for Coun Pat Witherspoon, with a performance from Redditch Community Gospel Choir included on the programme.
She said: “It was a celebration of the community of Redditch and marked a year in which we will join together as a town as a happy and caring place to live.”
Choir director Rosie Palmer added: “We were honoured and privileged to be invited to take part.
“They wanted something inspirational and uplifting so we sang Something Inside So Strong and Footprints In The Sand, both to ecstatic applause.”
