ALES and music will be on tap at a Led Zeppelin inspired festival.

The Rocklands Social Club will be pulling in the crowds next weekend in honour of Redditch-born drummer John Bonham.

More than 35 ales and ciders will be on sale from 12pm to 11pm – with 12 Led Zeppelin themed specials – in a bid to raise money for a memorial statue of him near the bandstand.

Around £50,000 is needed to produce the memorial which is yet to be designed.

Among the drinks to tickle the tastebuds include a slection from breweries XT and Kinver.

Parkin Lott will be playing live music throughout the weekend, covering classic hits from Led Zeppelin, The Who, Pearl Jam and Jimi Hendrix, while open mic will also be on offer.

Curry and sandwiches will be available, while the family-fun activities are also taking place at the event organised by Rocklands Ale Tasters.

Entrance fee costs £3.50 and guests will receive a special limited edition glass.
