Police alert after children approached by suspicious man

A WARNING has gone out for parents to be vigilant after reports of a children being approached in Hollywood.

It happened at 8.30am this morning while the three teenagers were on their way to school.

They reported they were approached by a very thin man who was around 65 years old, with grey hair and a skinny face.

They said they had been approached by the same man at a car boot sale several months ago.




In a separate incident, a 14-year-old girl reported seeing a man touching himself inappropriately as he was sat in a car Meadow Road, Wythall, as she was on her way back from school.

That happened yesterday (Monday) at 3.20pm and a 44-year-old Birmingham man has been arrested in conjunction with that incident.


He is currently on police bail and will return to Kidderminster Police Station on August 17.

Sgt Richard Field from Bromsgrove Police said following the incidents and another in Bromsgrove, police patrols would be stepped up outside schools to highlight the dangers and raise awareness among parents.

He urged anyone with any information on the incidents or further ones to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A warning text has also gone out to parents of schoolchildren in Bromsgrove district.

It reads: “There is an unconfirmed report of two men in a black car approaching children. Can we remind you all to take precautions to ensure safety on way to/from school.”
