Trains are back running normally today, Tuesday, after a problem with overhead power cables at New Street Station meant that there were no trains running out of Redditch yesterday (Monday) since 15.12.
Line operators London Midland put on buses from Redditch to Barnt Green to help passengers and a spokesman, Francis Thomas, said city bus services were accepting London Midland tickets to enable people to get on to their destinations.
“This issue had to do with overhead power cabling at New Street Station which caused disruption throughout the day and which continued into the evening peak travel period,” said Mr Thomas.
He added that passengers delayed by more than half an hour on Monday would be entitled to compensation if they made a claim through the company’s website.
