A MAN and a teenage boy were beaten up and robbed by a gang of thugs near the Jolly Farmer pub in Woodrow on Wednesday (August 26).

The incident happened at around 1.30am as the victims were walking by the junction of Woodrow South and Grafton Close.

A five or six-strong gang of thugs went up to them, demanded their belongings, before punching and kicking them.

Both were injured with the older victim, a man in his 30s, having his wallet stolen. He was later treated at the nearby Alexandra Hospital.

The thugs were all dressed in dark clothing and wore face coverings and made off on foot in the direction of Woodrow First School.
