Heartache for elderly owner as thieves steal jewellery in raid on Redditch home

POLICE is appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a property in Greenlands Avenue, Redditch which took place between Thursday (October 29) and Saturday (October 31).

Between 6.30pm and 7pm on Friday (October 30) residents nearby heard a noise and police believe this may have been when the incident took place.(Opens in a new window)

Several pieces of jewellery were stolen during the burglary, including a gentleman’s coin ring dated 1887, a 1911 sovereign necklace and a Sekonda gent’s bracelet watch with a gold coloured dial (all similar to the images shown). A gold necklace and bracelet set, a men’s gold chain and gold curb bracelet, a men’s signet ring and a men’s onyx ring with a small red stone were also stolen.(Opens in a new window)

The victim, an elderly woman, has been left considerably distressed by the incident, and would appeal to the offender to return the jewellery as it is of great sentimental value.(Opens in a new window)

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or for anyone who may have been offered the items for sale. Please call police on 101, quoting incident 738S of October 31, 2015.
