WARWICKSHIRE County Council’s Virtual School for Children held its 8th annual awards ceremony last week to celebrate the academic and personal achievements of children living in care in the county.
Over 60 young people in care and care leavers received awards, with carers, social workers, parents and members of the council looking on. The awards were for various academic and personal achievements, ranging from excellent GCSE results to excelling in kickboxing.
Over in Worcestershire the Virtual School is under threat after Babcock International, which runs the service, announced 104 redundancies amongst staff.
