A DESIGN company created by a Webheath woman has won two prestigious awards just two years after it was started.

Cream and Black Interior Design won the Best Residential Interior Designer of the year Award and Best Conversion at the Northern Design Awards presentation.

The firm was given the accolades during a ceremony at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool by Wayne Hemmingway, from fashion brand Red or Dead, and George Clarke, presenter of Channels 4’s George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces.

Hannah Cockburn, director of the business, said: “We were over the moon to win not one but two awards at the Northern Design Awards. It was the first competition we have ever entered, it’s amazing for our small business to have won these awards.”

Hannah won the first title for a series of recent projects but the conversion was a recognition for their work on Diesel House, a large garage building in Malvern, which was refurbished into a three bedroom home.

Hannah and her team were keen to recycle as many of the raw materials as possible and so created panels for the outside using the dismantled water tanks and bricks from the demolished parts of the building were used on the internal walls.
