VOLUNTEERS are urgently needed to help bring fulfilment to local adults with learning difficulties.
The plea comes from the Millsborough House-based Where Next Association which provides support and learning opportunities for more than 100 adults in the Redditch and Studley area.
“We’re looking for people who are enthusiastic and full of energy who can give their time – anything from one hour a week upwards to help others,” said Where Next Hub’s development manager Russell Wall.
“They’ll find satisfaction in helping people in need and helping to grow a local charity.”
Volunteers could find themselves helping out in arts and crafts sessions, keep fit classes or just social get-togethers.
The organisation also runs two landscape/garden centres in Easemore Road, Redditch and on the Alcester Road, Studley, by Spernall, as well as having its own factory unit producing garden furniture and bird tables and such like at Millsborough House, so people with those sorts of skills would also be welcome.
“It would be particularly beneficial for anyone doing health and social care as it represents an opportunity to get some hands on experience in a real-life environment,” added Russell.
The Where Next Hub is a local charity that has been operating in the area for some 30 years and offers a lifeline for many adults with learning diffficulties.
Volunteers are needed between 9am and 5pm Tuesdays to Saturdays and more information plus an application pack is available on 01527 69955.
