THE POLICE and army officers investigating the suspicious package found in Redditch earlier today have confirmed it is safe.
Several hundreds of metres of road on Prospect Hill was cordoned off earlier and around 70 people were evacuated from businesses and homes in the sealed off area.
Those roads have now since re-opened.
Det Supt Stephen Quinn said: “We would like to thank everyone in the area for their ongoing cooperation.
“We are conducting an investigation into this incident.
“At this time we cannot give any more details about the package but we will make a further statement when it is appropriate.”
