A TEENAGER was taken to hospital with with multiple injuries on Friday (December 4) evening after he was struck by a car in Alcester.
The pedestrian, believed to be in his late teens, received trauma care by medics at the scene on Birmingham Road, Kings Coughton, before being transferred to the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire with head injuries and a reduced level of consciousness.
The incident, which happened at around 11.20pm, saw an ambulance and a paramedic officer attend along with a passing Community First Responder who was flagged down by the fire service.
An ambulance spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a man with multiple injuries including head injuries.
“He received emergency treatment at the scene from medics and his condition was stabilised before being transferred to hospital for further emergency treatment where staff were on standby awaiting his arrival.”
The elderly gentleman driving the car was uninjured in the incident.
It is understood that the accident happened following a party at The Rugby Club when some of those attending had left the premises and were walking in the road.
It was during this time that a vehicle travelling along the A435 struck the teenager.
Alcester Police South Safer Neighbourhood Team said they are aware that there may have been a disturbance between some of the partygoers which may have caused the pedestrians to cross into the road.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to call 101 quoting incident number 0448 of December 4.
