Redditch sell-out awards will be best yet

Redditch Editorial 10th Dec, 2015 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

THE generosity of local businesses and organisations has ensured that tomorrow’s awards evening – which has now sold out – is set to be the best so far.

Pride of Redditch, set up to give recognition to individuals, organisation and businesses that go the extra mile, has grown since it started in 2013 and having moved to its new larger venue, Woodfield Academy, it’s a sell-out.

Organiser Rebecca Blake has given thanks to its sponsors and supporters: “100 per cent of the local businesses and organisations contacted have supported Pride of Redditch.

Their generosity has been outstanding and along with our nominees they have made the evening possible. They too are a credit to our town and these thanks don’t fully cover how grateful we are that we can now spend an evening showcasing the good that goes on in Redditch everyday”.

Pride of Redditch is entirely funded by the money raised in the community and services given in kind. Donations range from raffle prizes thanks to Biddles, Tesco and Visit Redditch, printing by the YMCA, to discounted flowers from Libby Belles in Astwood Bank through to the sponsorship of the awards by Dormer Hire, JHC Contractors, Lloyds Bank, Melbec Services, Redditch & Alcester Standard and the Redditch Town Centre Partnership.

The awards evening will acknowledge 48 nominations, featured in last week’s paper and can be found at http://www.prideofredditch.org.uk/noms2015.html or http://tinyurl.com/j23m3xk .

The evening will also raise money for Indigo Arts through the raffle and community bar which has been donated by Tesco and South Redditch Social Club.
