A CARE home in Redditch was filled with the angelic sound of children singing Christmas carols earlier this week when young choristers from Webheath First School Academy treated residents of Brambles Residential Care Home in Birchfield Road to a festive performance of traditional carols.
The youngsters sang favourites such as Silent Night and Away in a Manger, before tucking into mince pies with the residents and staff at the Sanctuary home.
Following the performance resident Dorothy Turrell, who is 96, said: “I thought it was lovely and it was so nice to hear the children.”
Music teacher Harriet Mayne said: “We like to support the community, especially at Christmas and the children love going along, it’s a great experience for them to go into the community and share their singing with such a nice audience, and the residents love seeing the children.”
