A BURST water main which had flooded homes in Winyates Green was fixed this morning (Friday).
Severn Trent was called to Dursley Lane about 1pm yesterday (Thursday) where the water was gushing from the pipes with such force it had lifted the pavement and had flooded residen’ts garages within an hour.
The estate was cut off from water until about 4pm and some homeowners near the damaged main had their water off while the company tried to fix the issue, which was done at 8am today.
A spokeswoman for Severn Trent said: “Our main priority is to fix the immediate issue when the water mains are damaged and now we have secured the pipes we will go forward to investigate the cause of incident.
“We work closely with those residents who are in the local area where we have to carry out the repairs and may not have running water throughout the duration of the work.”
