POLICE in Redditch are appealing for witnesses in a bid to trace the owner of a dog which bit an 11-year-old girl.
The incident happened at about 3.45pm on Friday (January 8) as the girl was walking along Mason Road in Headless Cross.
The dog, which was on a lead, jumped up at her from behind and bit her arm, causing bruising and a bite mark.
The man who was walking the dog is described as being about 60-years-old with grey balding hair and was wearing a green mid-length jacket.
He did not say anything to the girl and walked off in the direction of Longfellow Close.
The dog is described as black and white and a bit bigger than a spaniel.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information should call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident 499s of January 8.
