A REDDITCH woman has been given a 12-month community order for possessing a blade in a public place.
Claire Elizabeth Kopusto, of Patch Lane, in Oakenshaw, pleaded guilty at Redditch Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (January 12) to having an eight-inch kitchen knife on her while in Mount Pleasant.
Magistrates heard how officers were called on December 23 by someone who had been asked by the 32-year-old to borrow a lighter. Kopusto gave the person a hug and they felt the knife on her which she then threw under a car saying she no longer needed it.
When interviewed, Kopusto could not remember having the knife.
Magistrates ordered her to complete 25 days of rehabilitation and pay £185 in costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
