A REDDITCH man has been fined after he kicked a door belonging to Redditch Borough Council off its hinges.
Nicholas Pope, 22, of Batchley Road pleaded guilty at Redditch Magistrates Court on Wednesday (January 20) to causing about £100 worth of criminal damage to the door which was in his partner’s home.
Owen Beale, prosecuting, told the court Pope had gotten into an argument on December 31 with his girlfriend and in a rage had punched the door, leaving two holes in it, and kicked it until it fell away from the fixtures.
Pope, who was unrepresented, said: “I have started to repair the door. I accept that it was very stupid and done out of anger. I know that behaviour is not acceptable.”
Chair of the bench Vernon Nobbs fined him £185 and ordered him to pay £135 in prosecution costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
