BIG-HEARTED staff from a Redditch funeral directors are aiming to lose a whopping ten stone in weight for the borough Mayor’s chosen charities.
Tracey Flavell, Sarah Hennessey, Steve Watson and Judi Edwards from Huntley’s Funeral Directors have taken on the challenge to support borough Mayor Pattie Hill’s causes, including Redditch First Responders, Redditch Cat Rescue and Touch Stone. They are having weekly weigh-ins to keep track of their progress but aim to hit their target by April 12 and have already managed to shift 25lbs between them.
Tracey said: “We thought it would be a good idea to support these causes and this way can leave it in Pattie’s capable hands.
“Touch Stone in particular are a charity we work quite close with as they work with children who have or are about to lose someone to cancer.
“We spend so much time together we thought it was a great idea to lose weight together, keep each other motivated and if you are doing it for a good cause it isn’t just doing it for yourself.”
The team are also raising money through a competition to name the stuffed elephant cuddly toy at their Ipsley Street HQ.
