THE protest against the closure of the HSBC Bank in Studley has won the support of the parish council.
Campaigner Franziska Empl Buchanan, who has raised a petition against the closure, gave an impassioned speech to councillors in which she listed the damage the bank’s loss would cause to the village.
Parish councillors agreed to back the campaign and have the petition in the library and village hall. Council chairman Councillor Paul Beaman also announced he was due to meet the area director and regional deputy director of HSBC to raise the issue.
