GREEN-fingered residents across the borough are invited to join in the first working party determined to revamp Studley Common Nature Reserve this weekend.
In January The Standard reported how local campaigner Robin Jarman was actively appealing for help to stop the decline of the site which is accessed from St Jude’s Avenue.
On Sunday (February 14), Robin and his team will start work to get Studley Common Nature Reserve back to its former glory.
Speaking last month Mr Jarman said: “Five or six years ago, we actually had an opening ceremony and there was a noticeboard but that has since rotted away and the grass has grown wild – the whole site looks a mess.”
As part of the campaign, Mr Jarman kindly reminds dog owners to clean up after their pets as failing to do so is making the team’s job much more difficult and time consuming.
The group will meet at the Nature Reserve at 10.30am on Sunday and urge any interested parties to bring along a spade or rake and to wear wellington boots as it may be muddy.
