REDDITCH is now home to another two potentially life-saving defibrillators thanks to the Charlotte and Craig Saving Hearts Foundation and a county councillor.
Both the Windmill Community Centre and Oakenshaw Community Centre now have their own hi-tech pieces of kit, worth more than £1,000 each, after Coun Stuart Cross (UKIP, Redditch South) used his divisional funds to support the Foundation.
Coun Cross met with Rob and Maggie Underwood, of the Charlotte and Craig Saving Hearts Foundation, on Tuesday (February 9) to see the defibs mounted in their temperature-controlled cabinets.
The equipment is available 24 hours day and will help to save the life of anyone who suffers a cardiac arrest in or around the premises.
Rob said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Coun Cross for his support, the defibs will help to save lives in the event of a cardiac arrest.
“This is amazing support and we cannot thank him enough – he truly does see the importance of defibrillators and really is a lifesaver.”
In the event of an emergency, anyone who needs to use the defibrillator should call 999 where they will be given the code to unlock the cabinet and access the equipment.
Anyone interested in receiving a defibrillator or to donate should call the Underwoods on 07794 637073.
