YOUNG Redditch swimmers have taken home an impressive 62 medals after a regional wide competition.
Redditch Swimming Club entered 12 boys, 29 girls and two masters swimmers into gruelling five day event which took place over three weekends in the last month. They won 23 gold, 21 silver and 18 bronze medals as well as 52 of their athletes reaching Regional Qualifying times allowing them compete at an even higher level.
Several of the youngsters achieved some of their best ever time while others broke their personal records in all events they entered.
Paul Hartland, vice chair of Redditch Swimming club, said: “his is a fantastic result for the club and for the individual swimmers. It is a reflection of the long training, hard work and dedication that all of the swimmers show to the sport.”
