Alcester Town Council settling in at new home

AFTER a five-year wait members of Alcester Town Council have finally moved into their new home at The Globe.

Thanks to the re-structuring of the market town’s Globe House, town councillors now have a permanent base in Alcester after a gruelling period of working from temporary offices.

Globe House was the former office of Stratford District Council and offered a major opportunity for the county council and local community to bring the town’s services, including the library and Alcester’s Roman Museum, together under one roof.

To mark the occasion chairman of Stratford District Council, and Warwickshire County Councillor, Mike Gittus presented the town’s mayor, Clive Neal-Sturgess, with the keys to the new office on Monday (February 8).

Coun Gittus said: “The new offices will enable Alcester Town Council to move forward with its ever increasing burden of responsibilities.”
