Roadworks causing long rush hour hold-ups in Studley

MAJOR roadworks on the A435 in Studley are resulting in heavy traffic using the A448 Bromsgrove Road and The Slough causing long delays at the A441 Evesham Road roundabout in Redditch.

Locals in Studley have today (Tuesday) spoken of some drivers travelling north from Alcester ignoring the road closed signs on the A435 and being forced to do U-turns and adding to the traffic chaos at Spernall where the A435 and Bromsgrove Road join.

There was further danger at the Jubilee crossroads with cars unable to cross onto the Middletown Lane to Sambourne due to the heavy traffic.

Further up Node Hill drivers had difficulty exiting Station Road in Studley for the same reason causing long tailbacks.

Meanwhile inside the village businesses has seen a fall in trade.

The roadworks, for re-surfacing, are expected to finish by April 11 at the latest but road users and traders will be hoping they are completed long before then.
