STAFF and students alike were jumping for joy when they heard Ofsted inspectors continue to rate Roman Way First School as ‘Good’ following an inspection.

The celebrations come after inspectors visited the Colts Lane site on February 3, with the report published for the first time on Monday (February 29).

Following the inspection, Ofsted found the teaching of reading to be a significant strength and agreed the teaching staff had ‘maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection’.

The report states in all classes, pupils are making good progress with academic standards at the end of Key Stage 1 above average and, by the end of Year 4, pupils are well prepared for learning at middle school.

The staff, pupils governors and parents are said to be very proud of the report.
