AS THE town’s Ecumenical Centre prepares to celebrate its 40th anniversary, Redditch residents are reminded they have just one week left to enjoy an opportunity to explore its history.
As part of ‘Forty Years of the Ecumenical Centre’ visitors can unearth photographs, documents and other memorabilia about the centre’s two founding churches – Bates Hill Methodist and Redditch Congregational Churches.
The exhibition, which runs until next Friday (March 18, is free to enter and is open between 10am and 12 noon Monday to Friday.
Reverend Stephen Levett, minister at Emmanuel Church, said: “The founding churches entered into a covenant in 1975.
“Their vision was not only for Christian unity, but for a congregation, a welcoming facility and a visible Christian presence in the town centre, particularly in the newly developing shopping centre.”
