TWO Redditch runners will be having a father-daughter day with a difference when they run the London marathon together in April.
Emma Taylor and Patrick McGrath will be on the starting line for second time after completing the race together back in 2010. Emma is taking part to raise money for Whizz Kidz, a charity which provides essential mobility equipment and support for disabled children and Patrick will be lacing up his trainers in aid of Children with Cancer UK.
Emma said: “We ran the London Marathon back in 2010 along with my two brothers. Training is going well although we’d forgotten how hard it is but we keep thinking of the charities we are raising money for and it keeps us going.”
The duo are also holding a charity fund-raising night at the Rocklands Social Club on Sunday, March 27 featuring Redditch band Denim. tickets costs £3 and can be bought by contacting Emma on www.facebook.com/denimmusicband or [email protected].
