A BRAVE mum is taking fundraising to a new height when she leaps from a plane in aid of Special Olympics Redditch.
Sarah Richardson of Oakenshaw, is hoping to raise £1,000 for the group, which is an accredited branch of Special Olympic GB.
The organisation is a fully voluntary operated group which provides year-round sports training and competition opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities.
Sarah, aged 32, who’s son Freddie, aged nine is a member of the group, was the Special Olympics Redditch 2015 volunteer of the year.
The group currently runs two main sessions – one on a Monday evening for youngsters aged seven plus and one on Saturday mornings for those between two and seven-years-old.
Sarah first got involved with the charity around three years ago, which led to her becoming its grants officer, and she helps run the Saturday morning group.
The mum-of-two is now appealing for help from local people and businesses to sponsor her as she needs to raise £400 to cover the sky dive alone.
She said: “I couldn’t imagine doing anything else – it’s a fantastic charity and a cause close to my heart.”
