MEMBERS of Church Hill Big Local Partnership joined forces with Moons Moat Conservation Group to get the area’s Scheduled Ancient Monument site spick and span.
Both groups hold regular litter-picks but Saturday’s event was part of the national ‘Clean for the Queen’ initiative which aims to tidy-up neighbourhoods across the UK in time for the monarch’s 90th birthday.
The Moons Moat site was home to a former medieval moated house and has the same protected status as Stonehenge.
But members of the conservation group and Church Hill Big Local are appealing for new volunteers to join in the fun.
Wendy Johnson, chair of Church Hill Big Local, said: “It was inspiring to see so many local residents, especially lots of children, coming together like this.
“It is what Church Hill Big Local Partnership is all about – the community working together to make Church Hill a better place to live.”
