Poignant 26 miles ahead for Redditch trio

THREE Redditch runners have the perfect solution for keeping the bank holiday feeling flowing well into April.

Craig Swift, Deb Cooper and Elaine Cunningham are appealing to tastebuds across the town with their Hog Roast fund-raiser at Studley BKL Sports Club on Saturday, April 9.

The event, which will begin at 6.30pm and include a silent auction, raffle and music until late into the evening, will help raise funds for three charities which the trio will be supporting during the run of their lives on April 24.

Craig, Deb and Elaine will tackle the gruelling 26 miles of the London Marathon in aid of Anthony Nolan, Leukaemia Care and the Primrose Hospice.

The causes are ones which are close to the hearts of the three, who sadly lost a close friend, Josie Moss, to an aggressive form of blood cancer last year.

She was only 34 years old and left behind her husband and two young daughters.

Now Craig, Deb and Elaine are on a mission to raise as much money as possible in their friend’s memory and the London Marathon will be especially poignant for them as it falls on what would have been Josie’s 35th birthday.

The trio extend a warm welcome to all to join them in Studley and at a Golf Day at The Warwickshire Golf and Country Club on April 16.

Anyone who is able to sponsor a hole is invited to contact Craig on [email protected] for more information.
