A REDDITCH-based timber truss manufacturer is raising the roof with huge success one year after it moved to its dedicated facility on Washford Industrial Estate.
Scotts Timber Engineering (STE) makes roof trusses and joists and is finding its products in demand as UK housebuilding continues to rise.
Founded with the backing of 96-year-old parent company Scotts of Thrapston, STE has spent its first year in Redditch growing from three employees to 18, manufacturing 20,000 metres of joists and 17,000 roof trusses. The company delivers to national housebuilders, building contractors and self-builders across the central England.
Director, Richard Jarvis, said 2015 had been a brilliant start for the company: “Finding a new home for STE wasn’t an easy task but we are delighted to have chosen Redditch and have made significant advances since we arrived here,” he said.
“Once the manufacturing equipment was installed we quickly grew the business from the handful of customers we arrived with. I’m thrilled to say that we’re still working with those customers, and have added customers from as far afield as Sheffield, London, Bristol and everywhere in between.
“Our high levels of service, excellent quality and endeavour to exceed our clients’ needs all combine to see our customers coming back time and time again.
“The local workforce has been fantastic, which we’ve increased six-fold employing additional designers, office administration staff, delivery drivers, production staff and directors, and I predict that more jobs will come in the near future.
“The next 12 months will be just as exciting as we look to build on our product mix with new offerings and invest in additional machinery and building systems.”
Scotts Timber Engineering (STE) was established as a design office in 2012 and moved to Redditch in 2015.
