POLICE are hunting for a burglar who has absconded from HMP Hewell Prison in Redditch just a year into his sentence.
Bilal Bashir is reported to have absconded on Monday (March 28).
The 26-year-old had been jailed for four years, for burglary, in February last year at Warwick Crown Court.
He is an Asian man, about 5ft 11ins and of medium build. He has brown eyes with short black hair and police believe he may be in the West Midlands as he has links to the are.
