A DEDICATED Redditch care worker is going the extra mile to raise money for a charity close to his heart.
Callum Edmonds works at Brambles Residential Care Home, on Birchfield Road, and will be taking part in the Bicester Sprint Triathlon on Sunday (April 17) in aid of Dementia UK.
The 22-year-old, who is also currently training to be a doctor, said: “I have a close relative who has dementia so this is a cause which is really close to my heart and it’s great to be raising money for Dementia UK.
“It has been great working here – especially caring for our residents living with dementia. I will really miss it and will be so sad to leave.”
The event include a 400m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run and Callum has already been sponsored £400 but is looking to raise as much as possible for the charity which fund Admiral nurses, special dementia nurses who provide care advice and support to families living with the condition.
