Redditch's Keri Whip is a Club charts success story with Ridiculous Me

A REDDITCH singer is on cloud nine after reaching all the high notes and finding herself in the top ten of the UK club charts this Spring.

Following the release of her debut track ‘Ridiculous Me’ a few weeks ago, Keri Whip received praise from DJ’s around the UK. Released in a traditionally busy period for the music industry, Keri successfully beat international artists like Jason Derulo and Ariana Grande to the top 10 and even beat off competition from her idols, The Pet Shop Boys.

The 29-year-old has been singing for a number of years but only started writing her own songs last year.

She entered the charts at number 37 on the first week and the track quickly climbed 10 places to number 27 after just a week, and peaked at number nine last weekend – just in time for the bank holiday.

And to celebrate this incredible achievement, Keri’s family surprised her with a billboard in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre congratulating her achievements.

Speaking after she heard the news, Keri said she was ‘extremely excited’.

She added: “”I’ve been working in the music industry for years and have been fortunate to travel the world and make a good living from singing.

“Last year I felt that it was the right time to start releasing my own music and I’m extremely excited by the attention that it has been receiving.”

‘Ridiculous Me’ is available to download from iTunes now and you can visit www.keriwhip.co.uk for more details.
