Worcestershire Dog Warden warns pet owners the heat could be fatal

Redditch Editorial 18th Jun, 2016 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

THE county’s Dog Warden is pleading with pet owners to look after their four-legged friends in the hot and humid weather or else they could die.

Pip Singleton is warning residents their pet could die from heatstroke if they are not kept cool this summer even if the sun isn’t shining.

She said: “Each year we issue the same advice yet I still see reports of people leaving their dog tied up in the blazing sun or left to roast in a hot car which is just stupid. The RSPCA has a campaign which states ‘Dogs Die In Hot Cars’ – they really do!”

Pip also advises owners to not excessively walk their dog in hot weather, make sure they have access to water and somewhere shady to cool off.
