KIND-HEARTED fundraisers are saddling up to ride to Blackpool to raise money for a severely disabled Redditch boy.
Lar O’Connor will be heading a peloton of 15 cyclists who will pedal from Redditch to the famous seaside resort on October 24 in the hope of raising £5,000 for Noah Dodd’s family.
Noah is three-years-old and is deaf, blind and has cerebral palsy due to a virus called CMV which his mother unknowingly caught while she was pregnant.
Noah’s parents are now having to make costly adaptions to their home to support Noah’s needs and the bike ride is aimed at raising cash to be used on bed hoists, chairs and sensory equipment to make his life as easy as it can be.
Lar heard about Noah’s heart-breaking story through the boy’s uncle Russell Jobson and decided to help.
“We raised quite a lot of money for a little girl in Redditch at the last bike ride so when I heard about Noah’s story we all thought why not do another one.
“Most of the time fundraising goes to big companies but I thought after hearing this lads story it would be best to give it straight to the family, to the people who need it.”
