TWO HAND grenades have been found in Alcester over the weekend and detonated in a controlled explosion in a field in the town.

The two Second World War bombs were discovered by a resident in a outbuilding on Evesham Street at 11am on Saturday (August 27)and the emergency were called.

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit attended and removed the grenades detonating them in a field.
