THIS year’s final Bandstand event is due to be the biggest yet and promises to get the town buzzing with tasty food, live music and a fun fair.
Wilson’s Fair will once again be bringing joy to Redditch on Saturday (September 17) on Church Green alongside performances from the Oyabatucuda band, Bootsmiths buskers, it’s a Sign Choir, Olivia Pienta Dancers, Alcester Music company and award winning singer Jasmine Rawlings.
Sue Yeng, of the Redditch bandstand Committee, said despite the success of the Queen’s birthday celebration and Rio Comes to Redditch this year’s big finale promises to be the best yet.
“Our Bandstand Communty Festival will be a grand celebration of a very successful bandstand summer season,” she added.
“It is a wonderful way to celebrate our Town and its community who l am very proud to be a member of. A big thank you to everyone for their support with our summer events programme.”
Alongside the live performance residents can enjoy pottering around the community stall which will include food from around the world.
a highlight of the day will be the fancy dress competition which will see one lucky winner recieve a £500 voucher.
Coun Bill Hartnett (Lab, Church Hill) has been a huge supporter of the Bandstand Events and will be attending along Mayor Joe Baker, who will be opening the festival.
Coun Hartnett said: “We have continued to develop and improve each year. The final one of the year is always the best. We have the carnival, fun fare, food and great music it will be a fantastic day my everyone is welcome there will be fun for all the family with a wide range of events and even a chance for someone to win £500 in the fancy dress.”
