Redditch Arts Charity on the move

Redditch Editorial 23rd Sep, 2016 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

TALENTED Redditch arts organisation Indigo arts has found a new home in the Kingfisher Centre.

The move comes on the eve of the music and drama group launching its workshops and activities and just in time for its 15th birthday celebrations.

The arts charity has taken over the floor below the town’s Ecumenical Centre, above the shops on Evesham Walk, and looking over the shopping centre’s Worcester Square, to develop as a community arts facility.

The organisation is looking to accommodate a gallery space, and provide facilities and resources for ongoing arts activities, access to local arts information and advice, as well as developing its own acclaimed workshops, performances and projects.

Director Cathy Moss said: “We are very excited to be moving to the Kingfisher Centre, and being at the heart of the town. We cannot thank centre manager Ken Williams and his fantastic team enough for the support they have shown us over the development of this facility, and our pop-up theatre projects.

“It means so much to us to feel so welcome and valued as a community organisation, and we can now concentrate on doing what we do best, in an fantastic location.”

The charity is currently raising funds to support the development of the new facility and anyone interested in offering sponsorship or support should contact Cathy on [email protected].

Indigo arts is currently working on a Son et Lumiere at Bordesley Abbey in October, and a Big Birthday Bash in November, which will include all their workshop groups showcasing their favourite songs.

Indigo is encouraging all those who have worked with the group over the years to join in the celebration and get in touch by email: [email protected], or facebook.

The Indigo arts AGM will be held on October 13 at their new Arts Lab HQ at the back on the Kingfisher on Vine Street.
