Redditch lad's coffee and cake tribute to grandad for Primrose Hospice

Redditch Editorial 5th Oct, 2016 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

A BIG hearted Redditch lad is holding a coffee and cake sale tomorrow, Saturday (October 8) for the Primrose Hospice in memory of his grandad.

Adam Bird, aged 10, adored his grandad, Ed, who passed away, aged 75, in July this year.

Ed, who worked for both Royal Enfield and BSA in Redditch as a motorcycle designer, featured in the Redditch Standard last year when members of the Birmingham BSA Club took him for a spin through the lanes to their favourite watering hole, The Bluebell at Earlswood, to boost his spirits as he battled cancer.

Now Adam is hoping to raise lots of money for the Primrose Hospice where Ed went as a day patient in his last few months.

The cake sale will be on the drive at Ed’s home at 80 Mason Road, Headless Cross, and runs from 11.30am to 1.30pm.

Everyone is welcome to go along and enjoy a cuppa and a cake and to help a worthy local cause.
