A REDDITCH high school is flying high after being ranked in the top one percent in England.
Saint Augustine’s Catholic High School placed 18th out of 4,495 schools nationally in the new national league tables in England, and is now confirmed as the top performing school in the Midlands and the highest performing Catholic school outside London.
Anthony Quinn, executive principal at the school in Hunt End, said: “This outstanding outcome is a reflection of the hard work of the students and staff, which has remained consistent for a number of years and a fantastic endorsement of the comprehensive education system.
“It’s fantastic news for the school because it shows that all children, across the board and in all subjects, are achieving.
“Our priority has always been to develop the whole child by providing an all-round education and we are therefore delighted to have performed so well, not only at county level, but also from a national perspective.
“Students enjoy learning from specialist teachers, who can deliver through to A level and this is demonstrated in both their outstanding achievement and attendance.”
Students who wish to apply to the Sixth Form can attend the Open Evening on November 8, from 6.30pm – 8.30pm.
